Cocopotamus & All Things Chocolate!

Gotta say how much we do love chocolate. Especially, making our artisanal dark chocolate fudge. This blog is about how we learn and share chocolate knowledge.

We’ve been busy this week reviewing a number of distributors for our chocolate fudge.  We’ve pretty much decided to go with one that has a chocolate distribution network in 7 states.  We are super excited about the prospect of having our fudge available outside of our home state New Mexico.  Our wholesale pricing has finally been set.  Our wholesale brochures are being printed.  We’re all hyped up to go.  Can’t wait.

We’re so happy that Albuquerque’s best cafe and market, The Grove, will be carrying our chocolate fudge from Saturday, July 18, 2009.  Yippee!!!  Cocopotamus fans will be able to find five of our eighteen flavors there: Mr. French (gourmet sea salt fudge), Cupcake (classic dark chocolate fudge), Rosie Posy (dark chocolate fudge infused with Mediterranean rose water), Cuppa Joe (Italian espresso fudge), and Hang Loose (our new Hawai’ian island coconut chocolate fudge).  The Grove Cafe & Market owners revealed to us that their favorite is Mr. French.  What a coincidence, that happens to be our number one fudge flavor too!

Aside from our 5 pc fudge packs, you’ll be able to get our chocolate gift boxes there as well.  So…what you waiting for?  Go to the Grove and pick up some decadent fudge already!

New Mexicans Love Chocolate Fudge

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

We spent the last two days at the premier nursery, Osuna, in Albuquerque giving out our chocolate fudge samples.  We met so many lovely people and we truly enjoyed the experience and the interaction with our customers.  We love seeing their faces light up when they tasted our chocolate.  One lady said to us, “you’re BAD!!!”, with an ear to ear grin.  We think she loved what she was tasting.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend chocolate tasting event.  It wasn’t as crowded as the event two weeks ago at Chef Knockout.  But we treasure any opportunity to meet other chocolate lovers face to face.

Happy 4th from Cocopotamus Chocolate

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

We’re particularly excited about 4th of July this year.  With President Obama at the helm, we feel that a new era has truly begun.  It’s an era that we, Ally and Max, believe in deeply at a personal level- celebrate our cultural differences, be considerate of others (be it people or nations), enjoy chocolate with the rich flavors from the world.  Even back in 1995 when we first started our NYDC dessert cafe, our motto was to create a place where people anywhere can mingle.  We tried to introduce different foods in our menu that can, in our own minute way, “bridge gaps” among people.  It’s been almost 15 years since we started NYDC and our goal hasn’t changed much.  The medium to send our message, however, has shifted to a single focus – chocolate.  It’s our hope that through chocolate, we can give people small doses of joy every day, we can celebrate our differences, we can help, again in our minute way, create a better world.  Happy 4th, everyone!  Fudge happens.  Have a ball!
